Louis Kravitz
Louis Kravitz
Lou serves as Chairman of Kravitz. He is a consulting actuary with more than 35 years' experience. He is a recognized authority in the design and administration of retirement plans.

Lou is nationally known for his innovations in retirement plan design. He wrote the first pension plan approved under ERISA in Los Angeles. He later developed the concept and coined the term "New Comparability" for a 1992 USC Tax Institute presentation, which continues to be the standard retirement plan design for small businesses and law, accounting and other professional firms. Lou has led his firm through the many and frequent changes in law applicable to retirement plans, always responding in innovative ways to increase the ability of small businesses and professional firms to accomplish their retirement funding goals. Today, when companies want to reward their key people, they are likely to be using a Kravitz-originated design concept.

Starting as a sole practitioner in 1977, Lou rapidly attracted talented consultants and actuaries to his firm and built a new business model for retirement plan consulting. This new model consisted of delivering independent and unbiased advice, free of the conflicts of interest involved in selling the commissioned products then prevalent in the retirement plan consulting industry.

Over time, Lou has transformed the company into a professionally managed firm, whose goal is to attain the highest standards of excellence in product, service and management.

Lou is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA. His interests include serving on the Board of Directors of the Variety Boys and Girls Club in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. The firm actively supports many other charities through the work of its Volunteer Committee.
